Who is best suited for this treatment?
This treatment works equally well with a Type I and Type II diabetic. There is no restriction on age and research has found it to work equally well with young and old. In order for insurance to reimburse the treatment a doctor referral is required. PIT is targeted at the 20% of diabetics who are experiencing chronic complications of this disease.

Is there an age restriction on who can qualify for the treatment?

No. The treatment will work with both young and old.

How long has the treatment been around?
Research began over 16 years ago and treatments have been administered for nearly that long.

Has the pump been approved by the FDA?
Yes. The FDA has approved the pump for infusion of insulin.

Are there any health risks associated with this treatment?

No. Because the treatment process only uses the insulin your body already needs there are no known health risks associated with this treatment.

How long does the treatment take?
The treatment will take 6 hours once per week.

How long do I have to stay on the treatment?
Once beginning PIT it is a life long commitment in order to control the complications. If someone goes off PIT once beginning, they will begin to revert back to the problems they experienced before beginning the treatment.

What are the benefits of the treatment?

You will experience an increased energy level, 98% reduction in hypoglycemia, stopping and reversing of vision problems, kidney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, and wound healing, as well as many other benefits. Will my insurance company pay for the treatment?

Pre-approval is required before treatment can begin.

Where are centers located?
There are multiple locations in Utah and Florida, along with centers in Sacramento, California, Reno, Nevada, Bedford, Texas, Wichita, and Kansas.

Why haven’t I heard of this treatment before?
Until recently, the treatment has only been offered through research locations because it only has recently been reimbursable through insurance companies. Now that insurance companies recognize it as a valid treatment of diabetes, increased information will be available about the treatment.

Why would I want to go on this treatment?
To stop and reverse the complications of this disease. It is the only proven way to reverse the complications that diabetics will experience.

Yes. The amount will be reduced by an average of 40% - 50% but insulin will still be required in between each visit.

I already have a pump, how is this one different?
The insulin pumps that are out on the market today are very different from the pump used in PIT. This pump pushed insulin directly into the blood stream through an IV in a pulsating schedule to match what the pancreas would do if it were functioning properly. Through this process the liver is able to recognize it and begin performing the key functions that it has.

What makes this treatment different from other things I have tried?
The key difference is that PIT focused on bringing the body-wide metabolism level up to that of a normal, healthy person and thereby getting all of the benefits that come from doing so. Traditional treatments known as “tight control” simply cannot stop the complications from developing over time. PIT can.

Will this treatment stop the complications I am having due to my diabetes?
Yes. With over 50,000 treatments to date, PIT has been proven to impede and reverse the chronic complications of diabetes as well increase cellular energy and reduced the case of hypoglycemia by 98%.

What will I be doing during the treatment?
You will be sitting in a ergonomically designed chair and have an IV placed in your arm. Each chair is equipped with a personal DVD player and you will also be free to read.

Is the treatment painful at all?
No. The only painful part is inserting the IV.

How long does it take before the treatment starts working?
Most patients notice an increase in energy by the 3rd week. Depending upon the severity of the complications it can take anywhere from 3 – 30 weeks to see them be stopped or reversed.
